Fishing with friends!

Parker Fishing.
Aiden and his fish.
Alix and one of her many fish!
Playing with the worms:)

Last night, I watched Aiden and Alix for a while. We went fishing at Grandma and Grandpa's. We caught about 25 fish! It was Alix's first time fishing. She caught her first fish with a worm in just 2 seconds of having it in the water! It was a great time! The kids loved playing in the worms!

Freezing Corn!

16 dozen ears pictured here!
Mamaw Blanching the corn.

Parker & I bagging.
Parker, Riley & Harper pictured with all 80 bags:)
Tonight, Mom, Mamaw, Papaw, Parker, Riley, & I made freezer corn. We had over 21
dozen ears of corn. Mamaw & Papaw spent today shucking the corn. It took them an hour. Then we came and Mamaw blanched it, we cut it, bagged it and stuck it in the freezer. That took about 2 more hours. We ended up with about 80 bags. Of course, we all took some home. Parker had to take a bath before we left because she had corn everywhere! I literally have corn coming out my ears!! It was a great evening! Can't wait to eat it this winter.

Squasage

MMMMMM! Tonight for dinner I made one of my favorite summer time dishes. Acorn squash with maple sausage. Yeah, I know sounds weird, but tastes great!

I usually use 3 green acorn squashes. Cut them in half, remove seeds, and place in a baking dish filled with 1 inch of water and bake for 40 min. at 350.

Brown the maple flavored sausage (I use Jimmy Dean). Scoop sausage into center of squash (after water has been dumped and squashes flipped over). Sprinkle brown sugar on top of the sausage. Bake again for 20 more minutes.

If you like squash, you'll love this recipe.

I survived!

Well, I started my first day of class today. So far, I think I have a really great class this year.
Everything went so smoothly and the kids were very well behaved. I have 21 students so far!! I'm sure more will enroll soon. They always do.

I also started sending Harper and Parker to the sitters this week. Monday they went to grandma Rosies, Tuseday they went to the sitters, Sue, and today they went to Mamaw Maier's. Thurs. and Fri. they will go to Sue's as well.

I bawled all the way to the sitters on Tues. and all the way to school. It was rough having 4 months off and then handing my baby over. But, I know that she's in great hands.

Now, for day two!

CHUCKIE CHEESE!!!

These are some strange strangers! Never seen them before!
Don't know these two people.
Who is this girl?

Parker & I.
Parker went in the tubes and didn't cry!
On the pony.

Today was my last Friday off before I return to work on Monday:( Grandma Rosie, Riley, Parker, Harper & I headed to Chuckie Cheese for a fun trip. (It is Parker's favorite place!) She had lots of fun and got lots of tickets (with our help) 938 to be exact! Parker went into the tubes this time and didn't cry! Gotta love the disguises we were wearing huh! After that we went to the mall and picked up a few bargains.

Speaking of Bargains, yesterday my step-sister Annie and I went to a place in Plain City. It is a warehouse full of Victoria's Secret/Layne Bryant clothes. They were priced ridiculiously low! Here is what I got for $115 bucks.

4 pairs of dress pants, 4 pairs of work out pants, 1 pair of capris, 2 pairs of goucho pants, 2 shirts, 3 sports bras, 2 bras, and 7 pairs of underwear! Victoria's Secret undies for $2.33 and bras for $7. YOU CAN"T BEAT THAT!! I believe it is call MJR. It is back in the same area as Pump It Up. They are only open Thurs-Sat 9-4 and they put out their new stuff on Thurs. morning. The women literally ran in the building when they opened the door! Crazy.

My classroom is ready, but as the days draw nearer, I'm not. I am not ready to take Harper to the sitters at all. She will be 4 months old next week. It makes me so sad:(

What a BUSY weekend!

We had a crazy weekend! Friday and Saturday we had a garage sale at our neighbors house. I did pretty good and I got rid of a bunch of stuff!

Friday night I ran the Run to Educate 5K run. It was 3.1 miles and I ran the entire thing! It was my first race ever. I've been training for it for about 2 months now. I finished it in 32.15 minutes. My niece Riley finished right along with me. It was the first time that she had even tried running 3.1 miles.

Me and my friend and fellow 1st grade teacher Christa before the race!
Me running!
Riley and I at the finish!
Christa and I after the race! She finished 28.something!
Our fan club!

Harper rolled over for the first time last night. I didn't see the first one, but she was more than willing to do it again for the camera!

Saturday Parker was in a classic car parade with my mom and step-dad in his 69 Mustang Shelby GT500. Riley went too! Parker wouldn't wave to anyone!

I sure hope next weekend is much more relaxing, because it is my last weekend before school starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy like Sunday morning!

Harper Rose 3 months old now!
What a face!
I love this picture of her even though you can't really see her.
Sweet baby!
Sisterly love:)
My girls.
Lots of feet!
This one cracks me up!
Precious.

The girls and I played with the camera for a while. Since Harper is now 3 months old, I thought I'd take some candid shots of them!
