Tricks 4 Treats

A lot of tricks have been happening at our house! Parker has been doing great at tumbling. She has 3 weeks left. Last week she got her cartwheel all by herself! Of course, she doesn't land it everytime yet, but she'll get there. She is very proud of herself and so are we!! Check out the video of her landing one and a falling one!

Ozzie started obediance school today. That was interesting! After 30 minutes he had chewed through his leash. Luckily, they had extra there! He didn't do too bad. Of course all of the other dogs didn't help either. Too many distractions. He does pretty well at home when he is working for treats. Check out the video of Parker working with Ozzie on sitting and staying.

Fun at the Fair!

We ventured out to the Fair this weekend. Friday we went with Kristina and Jared. Matt was fishing. The girls rode the ponies and we ate food. We held off on the rides for Saturday. (It was very chilly Friday night)
Harper on her horse
Parker on hers

Saturday afternoon, mammy & pappy took us to the fair. This time the girls did rides. Harper loved the merry go round. Parker was very brave this year. She did the ferris wheel with me. I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit freaked out when we had to stop at the top. She said, "This is weird." I asked if she was scared and then she told me she was! Then she did the big slide by herself twice. I was impressed. When she walked up all of those steps she looked so grown up.

Wheee!

I love t his one. Parker is such a good big sister.
We fed the animals in the petting zoo. Parker loved the camel. She calls them canimals!

Parker going down the big slide! You'll have to turn your head sideways! I wasn't thinking when I filmed this!!! (She's the one in the middle)

Mamma Mia!!!

Riley & Parker outside the Ohio Theater by the poster.

This past weekend Rosie, Stacy, Riley, Parker, my mom and I went to the Ohio Theater to see Mamma Mia! on stage. It was great:) Parker almost fell asleep, because she was pretty tired. When I told her they were going to be getting married, she instantly woke up and kept asking, "When's the wedding?"

I love the movie, because I think the casting was tremendous. But, the show had so much more humor in it, plus some extra songs.

It was Parker's first big show and she was mesmerized. The best part was the 4 song finally. We had a BLAST!! It was a great girls day out.

Painting our house

On the right you'll see a poll of what color we should paint our house and two pictures to show the example paint schemes. We have to do something with paint this year because it looks terrible. We plan on siding it eventually after we've gotten all new windows, but that could be 3 years from now. We will sell eventually, but not within the next 3 years. So, we need your help. We can't decide what color to paint it!

I painted the swing set red the other day and really liked that color and wondered what the house would look like red. So, I went to the Sherwin-Williams website to try it out. The tan version is similar to what we have now, but our trim now is the same color as the house. We'd like to do it a different color. We will be getting a black roof by the end of summer.

Anyway, I just thought I'd put a poll on here to see what your thoughts are. Feel free to leave comments too!

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

Matt & I took the girls to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton today. They had a blast! It was similar to COSI, but not as big. They had a woodland zoo area that featured Ohio woodland animals. The girls really liked that part. There were also a lot of imaginary places (vet. office, courthouse, general store, recycling center, etc.) Parker had fun playing in there! Harper loved the Kid's Place. There she was able to play in the play area specifically designed for little ones. Parker enjoyed trying to dig up a dinosaur! Overall, it was a great time.

Harper playing in the Kid's Place. It was so cool. It looked like a fort built out of boxes!
Parker digging up the dinosaur. I thought it was dirt, but it was recycled rubber.
Parker & Daddy checking out the river otters.
This slide thing was cool! It was two stories. I went through it with Parker and then she did it by herself! (She is terrified of tunnels!)
Oh, no! We got locked in jail!
Dr. Penhorwood reviewing some animal x-rays.
Two cool girls driving in a cool truck.
Daddy was terrified of the mummy! (Parker asked if it was a dead mommy!)
This picture is for Uncle Luke. He would love Lego Land. (Parker asked if she could get in the glass and play with the castle!)
Parker was too chicken to touch the starfish, but not Harper. She loved sticking her hand in the tidal pool.
The coolest tree house ever! Parker was observing the birds.
If you have a rainy day with nothing to do, I recommend traveling to Dayton. It was very easy to get to. One exit past the Hara Arena exit.
