Harper Rose is 1 today!!!

My baby is turning one today! I have to retell the incredible story of her birth!

It started on the 23rd. I had been leaking, or so I thought a lot. I went to the Dr. and he did an ultrasound to make sure I still had fluid. And, I did. So I took it easy, because my C-section was scheduled for the 29th. I didn't go to work at all on the 24th. Mainly I lazed around the house.

Later that evening, Parker & I went to Wendy's to get dinner. We brought it out to Grandma Rosie's, because Matt was scrapping cars with his dad & brother. Then at about 6:45 we drove into Gloria's Tumbling with Rosie & Riley, to pick up Bailey from work. On the way there I felt a little gush. I know, it's gross, but it is birth! When we got to Gloria's I had Rosie check my rear and sure enough, it was wet! As we were sitting inside waiting, I finally said, "I'm pretty sure my water just broke, because I'm soaked." We waited until everyone left and headed outside. Gloria gave me a towel to put between my legs. Then the contractions started to come. So, I told Rosie to drive me home to get my things and then take me to the hospital. On the way there, the contractions increased, so I said, "Forget it just take me to the hospital." She started freaking out because she didn't know what to do. Mind you we still had Bailey, Riley & Parker with us!

So when we got to the hospital, Bailey stayed in the car with Parker while Riley & Rosie took me up. When I got out of the car, I told Parker that it was going to be ok and that we were going to get her baby. She then asked me, "Did you pee your pants mom?" Too funny! Because we had just finished potty training with her!

About an hour later everyone in my family & Matt's familiy had arrived as did the Dr. & the c-section team. Finally at 10:22 pm we had a baby girl that weighed 6lbs. and 10oz. and was 18 3/4 in. long. We were so glad that she was here!

Wow how a year has passed! It went by fast. My little baby is now walking! We just had her 1 year pictures taken. They turned out great!

Harper can walk and she finally has teeth

Easter weekend, Harper's teeth FINALLY and I mean FINALLY popped through. I swear she's been trying to cut them for 4 months now. She has her left bottom front tooth and the top left Second tooth. It is going to look hilarious! Hopefully the others will come soon so she doesn't look weird:) She also started walking this past weekend. Mainly for the Easter Basket. Easter Sunday she did very little crawling. She wanted to walk instead. She's been walking ever since. Not that I compare my children, but as far as milestones. Parker was walking at 10 1/2 months. Harper at 11 1/2 months. Parker had 6 teeth at age one. Harper 2. However, Harper did crawl first! But that doesn't matter now that she is walking! Hopefully now that she's walking, she finally get past the stage of putting everything in her mouth. Probably not though.

Here is a video of Harper walking for the eggs.

Happy Belated Easter! I've been lazy:)

Easter went by fast and I've been too busy to sit down and upload my photos! Parker was full of it that weekend. Everything she said was hilarious. For example: My dad took her to an Easter Egg hunt. She did pretty well collecting eggs. She won two big stuffed rabbits and she met the Easter Bunny. But, when they were getting in their car to go home she asked my dad, "Did you bring my gun?" She thought she was going to hunt the bunny not hunt for eggs. She got a little confused. But also reiterated the fact that she truly is a Pwood!

Someone at my Aunt's house was trying to get her to eat and they told her she needed to eat so she could get bigger. Her response was, "My mommy doesn't want me to grow up, she want me to be little." Funny thing is, I tell her that all the time! I say, "Don't get bigger, I want you to be my little girl forever!"

On Saturday night, I jokingly said, "I should put curlers in Parker's hair because my mom ALWAYS made me sleep with curlers in for Christmas and Easter." Rosie said that she had some! So......
Parker was totally cool with it too! I sure wasn't. Maybe the first time my mom did it I was, but I quickly learned! That night the girls went to bed very easily for us. When they woke up Parker was so excited to find her eggs. Harper actually found her basket first!

Parker finding eggs!
One little.
Two little.
Three little rabbits!
Ozzie sure loved his bone that the EB brought him!
Parker liked her "DS" game that EB brought her. It is really a My First Leap Pad, but she calls it her "DS".
The hair after we took it out. SOOOOO curly!
Me and my girls!
Daddy and his girls!
Our attempt at a family photo before we left for church.
Something else funny that Parker said that weekend. We were leaving for church and she was to sing there that day. Matt asked her what she was going to sing. Her reply was, "Sponge Bob Square Pants and everybody will laugh at me!" Luckily, she didn't! But, I was a little worried:)

My little girls in their matching Wal-mart dresses!
After church, we went to Aunt Kim's for our traditional Easter Lasagna! And our traditional Easter Egg hunt! I won AGAIN (no thanks to Colby being the bigger man and letting the little kids get eggs instead) with 42 out of 249 eggs! Maybe next year I'll let the little ones have more eggs instead. Parker ended up finding 26. And Matt helped Harper. I guess I need to grow up right??? Or not!
Harper walking with Papaw.
Hi!
Silly Papaw.
Harper with Great Grandpa showing off her legs!
Then we went out to Mamaw & Papaw Maier's for Ham!
Auntie J and her crew! (Parker was doing her closed eye smile again)
Great Mamaw & Papaw and the girls. (Again, Parker's attempt to smile with her eyes closed)
All in all, it was a long day, but we survived!
Hope you had a Happy Easter too!

Good Friday was a Good Friday!

Today was very eventful! Harper has been carrying a fever for 3 days now but it has been low grade. I took her to the Dr. this morning to make sure it wasn't an ear infection. She said it was probably her teeth. I just wanted to make sure since Easter is this weekend and I didn't feel like dealing with it then.
Then we came back home and while Harper was trying to nap, Parker and I dyed our Easter eggs. She named each egg. I wrote a person's name on each egg with the white crayon. Some of the people she named them for this year were quite funny. 6 of them are named for people in our neighborhood. One of them is a student in my class and the rest are family members.
Pouring in the vinegar.
Dropping in the tablets.
Painting dots on them. (And making a mess!)
Cool!

Then we picked up Big Shelbi and we went to see the Hannah Montana movie. I've got to admit, I almost cried. I know, it's Hannah Montana, but it got to me a little. I'd say it was a pretty good movie. Parker loved it. Then we went back to Big Shelbi's house and picked up Harper and played for a while.
Then it was time for our play date with Max, Chloe, & Carter. My best friends came over and we had pizza. It was the first time that we had all been together with the kids. I put out some marshmallows for Harper and they became a great hit for all the kids. Parker changed clothes at least 4 times. I swear I think she has multiple personalities! Except they are all Disney princesses and the occasional dirt bike rider.

A good time was had by all. It was nice catching up and seeing the kids interact with one another. The age span on the kids is there is one kid born each year since 2005. We told Kristina she could have the next two back to back!
All in all, it was a good Friday. I'm hoping for a relaxing Saturday!

Parker, Carter & Aunt Kris
I think she misses having a "little baby"....TOO BAD!
I like this one of Carter. He is smiling!
Eating Pizza. Parker was wearing the hat Grandma Rosie made her.
Now for the marshmallows!
Here's your binky Harper.
Then we decided to try to get all the bigger kids together for a picture on the couch. Ha!
These are great!
Our first try. Notice Max trying to sneak off!
Second try. He still wasn't having it.
And the final try. This one is my favorite. You can see how they were all tire of it! Maybe next time!

AHHH Spring Break!

But, now it's over!

We went to Cleveland to visit my brother and sister-in-law. It was my first trip driving by myself with the girls alone! Harper slept almost all the way up. (She doesn't like car rides) We all went to the park to feed the ducks. It was such a nice day out. It was also my brother's 28th bday so Parker and Rach made him cupcakes or "pupcakes" as Parker calls them, from scratch (I was impressed, because I always use the box mixes!) Parker wore Rachel's Starbucks apron and looked like a chef! On the way home Harper slept the entire way and woke up when we pulled in our driveway! Perfect timing. Parker slept for about an hour and a half. It was a nice break away from btown. Thanks uncle Luke & auntie Rach!

The rest of the break was spent CLEANING! I also worked in the yard and raked my flowerbeds. I also painted the bathroom that we remodeled last April. We love starting projects and never finishing them! Matt is the king of that! It is almost done. Just need to paint the trim, put the trim back up, paint the ceiling, & put in the new window. Seems like a lot, but not as much as we started with!

I went back to school today. I missed the kids, but I also missed being with my girls!

Silly girl.
Wee! Harper's first slide ride.
