Parker and I found a robin's egg in the grass the other morning before school. She insisted on taking it to share with her class. My grandma placed it in a butter container with tissues around it. She said that she carried it into school very gracefully.
So, the teacher told the kids they could look but not touch. One little boy who doesn't always listen to directions, picked up the egg and put it in his mouth and bit down. Egg yolk went all over his mouth and face. Of course, Parker started crying. She did bring home the shards of eggshell in the butter container.
I asked her if she was upset and she told me, "I thought it was going to hatch". I would've loved to be a fly on the wall that morning in her classroom.

I'm not a slacker...I've been busy...I promise!
So...If you haven't heard already. Matt and I bought a house. We close next Friday. It is across from the walking track near the soccer fields. It is an old farm house with about 2 acres, a barn, and two out buildings. It has 2 baths! We are excited about that one:) So, we've been busting our butts to get everything done that we've put off doing in the past 5 years! So far, we've replaced the kitchen floor, painted the cabinets, put the buffet back in the dining room (needs a few finishing touches) and we are almost finished painting the outside of the house.

This was Harper's first time dyeing eggs! She dropped them in pretty hard too. I love her face.
My girls.
We went to the zoo over spring break with Riley, Greg, Stacy and Riley's friend. We also took one of my former students. Parker always calls her "Big Shelbi" because she is older than "little Shelbie"
Parker and Matt putting the doors back on the cabinets. Notice her tool belt around her waist!
Here's what we've been doing when we aren't working on stuff!
Dyeing eggs for easter.
