Pitch and Playdough

The rainy weather this weekend has allowed my girls some quality indoor playtime! After finishing a few Smirnoffs last night, I showed Parker how they made different sounds with different amounts of liquid (water) in them. She was so interested in doing it herself. We took 3 bottles and filled them with different amounts. Then she decided to mix the water and try it at different levels. She played at the table for a good 45 minutes with the bottles. I told her that she was playing with pitch. She had no idea what I was talking about!

Tonight, Harper grabbed her playdough stuff and started playing at the table. She LOVES to play with it. Parker got a little playdough oven for her birthday and Harper is always cooking us dinner. Tonight she played with it for at least 30 minutes before Parker joined in. Then Ozzie joined in and had a playdough snack, then spit it back up on the carpet.

I have spent more time today cleaning up after the dog than I have my girls. He is really beginning to frustrate me. ANYONE WANT A FREE DOG. Don't get me wrong. We love him, but we were way wrong getting another big dog to replace Zeus. The biggest problem is that he isn't Zeus. We didn't think about that! He's a good dog, just too much to handle with 2 kids!

Parker playing with pitch

It took her a few minutes to figure out how to blow on it correctly. Such determination Peek a boo! She cooked the entire time with her mouth open? Don't know why! Rosy cheek girl Dinner's ready!

Piggy Tails & Tied Shoes

Howdy Partners!
A few firsts happened this week! Harper finally let me put piggy tails in her hair (it's finally long enough) and Parker learned how to tie her shoes!

Harper however, does not like the piggy tails. She usually only keeps them in for about 20 minutes when she remembers them again!

Last Friday, we were bored, because of the cancellation. I told Parker she should learn how to tie her shoes today and she said, "Ok." She already knew the first step, but everything after that confused her. Of course it didn't help that I tie my shoes with 2 bunny ears and Matt does his with 1 and wraps around. We've both tried to help her and it only confused her. So we tried my way again and within about 20 minutes she had it! She tied shoes ALL day long too! And called everyone she knew to tell them all about it!

Both girls are sick right now (upper respiratory infections) Parker went to the Dr. on Monday and got some antibiotics. I took Harper up to the ER today so I didn't have to wait until tomorrow. She has the same thing. They've had it for about two weeks, but both of them got a fever with it. Harper was so cute, because she kept calling the hospital the "hossipital". She was proud of her "bwacet", but didn't like when the doctor "hurt my mouf".

She is talking up a storm now. Yesterday we went to the carwash after we ran through McDonalds. She said, "Hey Mom I got ta tell ya somfin." I said, "What?" She then said, "I got McDonnals." I was amazed, but cracking up at the same time! She had just said an 8 word sentence and waited for my reply so she could finish!
Miss Piggy!
Parker insisted on being a cowgirl today. She dressed herself and found Matt's old cowboy hat.
I guess they wanted to show you their red throats!
Piece of Cake
Notice the determination. I think she looks like my mom here.
Yeah!
Way To Go Parker!
Harper's favorite place. Sitting at her table watching her DVD player in the living room. She could care less about the big TV. She loves watching Elmo!
