Bathroom Update

Well the bathroom is coming along. It only gets worked on when Matt is sick of looking at the kitchen!
Here we took out an oversized closet and put in a shower.
This is Matt's first tile job. I think he did awesome! The girls can't wait to take a bath in the bathtub!
It's still a work in progress, but not top priority right now. Next weekend will probably be spent finishing up the bathroom:) We do have a working bathroom on the first floor, so as long as we have one working, we will be able to move in and he can finish it up then.

So, I did my dumb thing for the week today. I broke the drive shaft on the mower. I was just about finished, but ignored the noise it was making. Matt wasn't too pleased with me!

Kitchen Update

This is the room between the living and kitchen. It is currently housing my appliances!! THe living room is housing the cabinets until hopefully Tuesday!
This is what the cabinets look like. I found them on Craigslist Columbus. They are great! They are all wood (no particle board), hidden hinges, extended drawer openings, and have a cool rope design around them. They were a steal too! For 18 cabinets and free delivery, it was $3900. It didn't even compare to Lowes cheapest cabinets. The company is called SemBro Outlet. If you are interested in getting cabinets, I highly recommend. And if you decide to go with them, mention my name! (Done with my sales pitch!)
So, here is the kitchen looking from the dining room. The last coat of mud was put on tonight. Hopefully sanding, cleaning, then priming will all happen tomorrow! Painting would be nice too:)
Handy Manny, he is SOOOOOO tired and ready for this to be done!
Looking at the kitchen window. The house isn't crooked, I just must have been standing lopsided!
The fridge will go right where the ladder is. Cabinets will be beside it up to the closet wall.
If you have nothing to do next week, feel free to stop out! I'm sure Matt can find something for you to do!
11 Days:)

Sweet Pickins!

The fruit is definately beginning to prosper! I have been anticipating the pickings and we are just beginning to be able to eat them! It has inspired me to plant other plants, however I haven't acted upon the inspiration, but hope to soon. I would love to plant rhubarb, blueberries, black berries, and a peach tree!
Unfortunately, the weeds are competing with the raspberries, but we are able to get a few now and then. It needs cleaned out badly, but there is a lot of poison ivy near it!
Green apples blooming nicely! The other tree has a red variation. We also found 2 more apple trees in the fence row!
We have 2 pear trees as well. They are taking shape nicely!
The Concord grapes are also looking good!
But the mystery plant has been solved! It was a sweet cherry tree! These are a bit tart, but great for cooking. The tree is loaded and ready to be picked. If you would like some, swing over. I can't do much with them this summer considering I have no kitchen at the moment!

We also discovered a gigantic Cherry tree growing on the west side of the house away from the orchard. It is huge. Again, if you need cherries swing by, they won't be good for much longer!

Updates

Well, I regret that I have no pictures to show as my camera was stolen from my classroom the day before school let out. I had most of my photos uploaded to the computer, but the most recent ones I hadn't had the chance yet. I will bring the other camera over tomorrow to take some shots to show what we've been doing.

Along with the camera, I've stepped on a nail and had to have minor surgery to remove the flip flop from inside of my foot, lost my debit card twice and sideswiped a yellow pole with my car!

I'm hoping that now with school finished, I am able to focus my brain on the house instead of the fifty other things I'd been doing as well!

House Updates:
12 days left until we have to be out of our house!
Carpet upstairs will be installed Mon/Tue.
Cabinets will hopefully be installed also on Mon/Tue.
Living room furniture will be delivered on Wed.

We are mainly focusing on finishing up the kitchen first so we can have the living room empty and the house be liveable. The upstairs bathroom will be finished after the kitchen, because we already have one working bathroom to use for now!

Since schools been out, I feel like I've had a roller and a paint brush glued to my arm and we haven't even started painting the downstairs yet!!!! (hopefully we can start tomorrow)

The fruit trees are flourshing. We've been picking raspberries and cherries all week now! The girls love to just eat them right from the plant. I caught Harper eating a cherry from the ground the other day!

The deer have pretty much devoured my garden. I do have some plants left, but not many! Next year I'll spend more time with it and fence it in.

I'll post some pictures soon! Hopefully
